Bending the traditional structure of a rock outfit. Sweep blend dissonance and quite beauty on their debut full - length release. Eight songs that dissuades categorization. Simply put, there are no bands that could be placed in a “blender” to create Sweep the Leg Johnny, even on a ‘puree’ setting. Sweep the Leg Johnny uses an alto sax like other bands use a second guitar, layering it within the mix to create a more elaborate texture. Sweep the Leg Johnny is a self - described blue-blue collar rock band. This is what Southern Records says, “by incorporating noise, orchestration, jazz, punk, prog, goth, melody, dissonance and their unparalleled work ethic, Sweep's songwriting has become nearly indefinable. In a world of musical mimicry, Sweep the Leg Johnny sounds like no one else.” If you turn this up loud enough, some people have said they’ve felt Steve’s stare. Really!! This is a perfect example of a band doing something fresh. It’s compelling. But they like the Cubs. What’s up!!

From HeartAttack #20 “….the saxaphone helps keep the energy level and while its certainly indie oriented it is played with attitude and a certain sense of drive and power.”
